I try to eat healthy food every time I have a meal. It is easy to control what I eat when I cook at home. And, I am really happy about being fully in charge of my culinary choices. But sometimes if I eat out, I do not always know what the chefs are adding into my dishes.
It took me a couple of years to create healthy lifestyle and stick to it. Today, my kitchen is full of fresh and colorful vegetables, fruits, yoghurt, herbs and spices, meat and eggs, fish, nuts and seeds, non-glutinous grains, oils, various seasoning, etc. The most popular products include garlic, onions and sour fruits such as lemons, limes and grapefruits that I consume in huge amounts because of their abilities to strengthen immune system.
The list of products which I eat the most often contains delicious ingredients which I use to prepare most of my meals: lots of tasty sources of proteins, fats and carbohydrates.
VEGETABLES: cucumbers, asparagus, avocados, broccoli, cabbage, lettuce, celery, eggplants, garlic, black and green olives, onions, spinach, tomatoes, carrots, potatoes, zucchini, sweet potatoes, radish, bok choy, bell peppers, bean sprouts, bitter melons, okra.
FRUITS: grapefruits, kiwis, lemons, limes, apples, pears, peaches, oranges, grapefruits, grapes, plums, apricots, strawberries, blueberries, cranberries, bananas, lychees, pineapples, papayas, star fruits, melons, watermelons, mangoes.
DIARY: probiotic yoghurt.
HERBS & SPICES: black pepper, cinnamon, cloves, dill, bay leaves, ginger, oregano, red chili peppers, rosemary, thyme, turmeric, Sichuan peppercorns, star anise, fennel, cumin, parsley.
MEAT & EGGS: beef, chicken, lamb, turkey, quail eggs, chicken eggs.
FISH & SEAFOOD: salmon, sea bream, scallops, shrimps, tuna, octopus, seaweed.
NUTS & SEEDS: sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, almonds, hazelnuts, pecans, walnuts, pistachios, chestnuts, cashews, peanuts.
GRAINS: brown rice, black rice, Thai rice, buckwheat, millet, oat, white rice (sporadically for lunch).
OILS: cold-pressed coconut oil, olive oil, sesame oil, flaxseed oil.
SEASONING: salt, lemon and lime juice, apple cider vinegar, rice vinegar.
BEVERAGES: pure water, lemon water, lime water, all sorts of tea, ginger tea, home-made ginger ale, peppermint tea, coconut milk, almond milk, fruit smoothies.
When I try a new fruit or vegetable and discover that it is delicious and healthy, I add it to the above list.
You do not have to follow my list and eat everything what I eat. Just give it a try to a couple of healthy products, maybe you will like them.
