Being a minimalist helps many people to find meaning in their lives.
Minimalism empowers people to focus on what truly important in life is. Minimalism helps to discover what adds value to life and what clouds the mind. Minimalism prevents from wasting valuable time on doing useless things.
This is how you can become a minimalist:
1. Do not own excessive stuff. Have only the things that you use frequently. Get rid of just-in-case items which you keep in the brown box at the top of bedroom wardrobes. Drastically reduce your possessions. Throw away clothes. Give away stuff to poor people. Burn or tear apart old newspapers.
2. Constantly question possessions. Ask yourself, if you still need something that you own and when was the last time you used that thing? Can you get rid of one of your cars not to pollute the environment?
3. Do not give any meaning to your possessions. Everything that you own, for example, a handbag or toothbrush, can be replaced at any time in the future.
I treat minimalism as a tool to streamline my life in order to live meaningfully. Being happy, free and conscious for most of the day is way cooler than blindly chasing down the idea of owning the latest version of a smart phone.
Are you ready to become a minimalist when the whole world is just the opposite? Are you prepared to focus on the most important aspects of your life (health, relationships, emotions, passions, personal development, contribution to the world)?
I deeply hope so because minimalism is a lifestyle that helps people to debate what brings extra value to their lives.
