Here is my personal list of interesting blogs about budgeting. These are blogs about creating systems of budgeting to earn, save and invest for the present and the future
The websites on the following list are my favorite blogs about budgeting for gaining total control of the money. They consist valuable information on strategies how to start budgeting, methods of organizing your finances, demolishing debt and saving piles of cash to reach your financial goals faster.
These blogs truly are the best of the best when it comes to budgeting your money! It is a real treasure for all of the people who are currently struggling with planning your financial situation. I hope you will like them too.
You Need a Budget
Julie and I (Jesse) married. Living on love was great and all, but we still required food, shelter, and textbooks for school. (Yes, we were still in school.) I knew we would need to watch what little money we had very closely. So, I began developing a system that grew into something quite useful. It really boiled down to four simple rules: we decided what we wanted our money to do before we spent it, we broke up larger, less-frequent expenses into manageable ‘monthly bills’, we changed our budget as needed, we only spent money that was at least thirty days old’. Living this way, and seeing how absolutely invaluable the Four Rules were, we wanted to spread the word. YNAB (‘why-nab’) launched in September 2004.

Budgets Are Sexy
The Budgets Are Sexy blog was started in Feb of 2008 by J. Money, a personal finance nerd (and a good friend of mine) to track his journey of hitting USD$1,000,000 in net worth. After 11 years of budgeting, saving, learning how to invest, and making a bunch of mistakes along the way, he reached the USD$1,000,000 goal! And millions of readers followed along. Now, J. has moved on to other projects and asked me to take over the reins and keep spreading the good word about financial Independence! My name is 5am Joel and I started blogging for the Budgets Are Sexy blog in June 2020. I’d never done anything quite like this before. But, life has taught me that tackling big and scary things will lead to some pretty amazing places! Why ‘5am Joel’? About 4 years ago I started getting up every morning at 5am. It started as one of those 30 day challenges, but after the challenge was over I just never stopped. I got addicted. I started noticing major improvements in my work, health, relationships and happiness in life.

Be The Budget
We can’t take back the financial decisions we’ve made in the past. We can only resolve to never repeat them. That’s why budgeting is so critical. Our budget changed the way we live. It eliminated the blurry areas in our finances, and made every decision crystal clear. We are now extremely disciplined when it comes to making purchases, and know that as long as we operate within the budget, our financial future will be bright. We know it won’t always be easy. Budgeting takes time, discipline, persistence, and commitment. We can’t just create a budget, we must make budgeting a daily habit. We have to hold ourselves accountable and embrace financial humility. We have to go beyond just starting a budget, and also, manage the budget, live according to the budget, and stick with the budget. To paraphrase William Shakespeare, it all comes down to a choice – ‘To Be The Budget, or Not To Be The Budget, that is the question (…)’.
