Clean Your Sink Properly

Many people whom I know say that washing dishes by hand in a sink is one of the most horrifying experiences out of all house chores.

In fact, dishwashing is a hard job to do that many people would like to avoid at any cost. But once you start the family, running away from cleaning cooking utensils, dishes, cutlery and other kitchen items on daily basis seems to be more difficult than escaping from prison.

Unless you eat out every meal, you will most likely have to wash dishes a couple of times a day. It is scary to waste previous time on such a mundane activity that is not even as cool as going out to a nice restaurant and being served by a handsome waiter or a beautiful waitress, not pleasant to put your freshly-painted nails into greasy plates, cups and pans, disgusting to remove food leftovers using your soft hands when the sink gets stuck. Isn’t it all terrible?

And, once you finish washing all the dirty cookware and cutlery, there is still one more thing to clean – a sink.

Let me tell you something that may surprise you.

In my opinion, washing dishes along with cleaning the sink are two of the most educating experiences in our everyday life.

In my home, it is usually me who washes the dishes and cleans the sink afterwards after each meal that I have with my wife. And I enjoy doing it because during that time I can practice being patient, it helps me to relax by giving me several minutes to pause and think about my life, and most importantly, I am helping my wife to improve quality of her life. She has very sensitive skin and gets allergic reaction every time she touches dishwashing liquids or any chemical detergents.

I also enjoy the feeling when a tall pile of dirty plates and a stack of knives, forks and spoons slowly starts disappearing from the kitchen top making space for fresh food which we bring into our kitchen every time after shopping for groceries. Then, I can see tangible results of the job well done every time I finally finish dish washing and sink cleaning.

When I wake up and see the empty sink, it gives me more energy to start a new day with enough time for my daily routine, which includes drinking warm lemon water, rather than putting my hands into oily mess first thing in the morning.
