6 Ways to Save Money on Tourism

No matter if you are being a frequent traveler going on holidays every couple of months, or just travel once in a decade, here are a few tips. They will help you to save money while traveling, so you can try more of the local cuisine.

1. Take advantage of hotel rewards programs. Many hotel and resort groups will offer discounts to loyal customers who stay at their hotels regularly.

2. Always negotiate accommodation price. Call the hotel or send an email to negotiate the room price, especially when you are planning to stay at one hotel for many nights. Also, ask for a lower price when you are planning to check out earlier.

3. Use hotel online booking websites. Hotels, which cooperate with Internet booking portals, will lower the price when there is only one or two unoccupied rooms left.

4. Telecommunications. Many hotels will have free Wi-Fi access. Take this opportunity to communicate with friends and family instead of making costly phone calls.

If you are an extreme money-saver, you can also:

5. Rent apartments with a kitchen or kitchenette. Renting studios in which you can prepare your own meals will save you a lot of money on eating out every time when you get hungry.

6. Bring supplies from home. If you go holiday abroad and drive a car, do not forget to buy food and water supplies that may be cheaper in your own country. Some products, which you eat or use on daily basis, can be quite expensive in developed countries, especially if you are going to spend longer period of time there.
